The Ocean Drum, also known as the Sea Drum, is a fascinating percussion instrument that brings the magic of the ocean into the hands of the player. Their special feature lies in the unique construction that allows the sounds of waves and tides to be acoustically replicated. A gentle sound of surf, crashing waves in stormy seas and everything in between - with this drum you get a musical ticket to the world of the seas. Sela Ocean Drums are available in five different sizes and are characterised by their innovative construction. They consist of a round beech wood frame that, unlike many other hand and frame drums, is strung on both sides. Inside the Ocean Drum there are many small balls made of metal and plastic that dance over the fur when moving the drum and create noise effects reminiscent of sea waves. Since one side is covered with a natural fur and the other with a plastic fur, the Sela Ocean Drum can be elicited two completely different tones. Thanks to a lockable opening in the frame, the amount of beads and thus also the volume and response of the drum can be individually adjusted. The way the Sela Ocean Drum plays is as impressive as it is straightforward: it is simply held on the frame and then tilted, rolled or shaken to create very different sounds. With gentle movements you conjure up soothing sea sounds, while more intense movements bring out the sound of the waves in the storm. In addition, the Sela Ocean Drum can also be played like a conventional drum by hitting the skins with your flat hand, the palm or individual fingers. With separately available beaters or brooms, the sonic repertoire of the Sela Ocean Drum can be further expanded - there are no limits to creativity. The Sela Ocean Drum impresses with its meditative sound, which provides a unique sound experience for both beginners and experienced musicians. It is an extremely versatile instrument that can be used in different contexts: the soothing sounds of the Sela Ocean Drum are balm for the soul making it ideal for meditation and relaxation exercises. They can help relieve stress and achieve a meditative state. In music therapy, the Ocean Drum is often used to promote relaxation and emotional healing. Their ease of use makes them accessible to people of all ages.
