The open melting crucibles are made of clay bonded high grade fused silica and withstands temperatures up to 2500°F/1371°C. Used for melting Gold, Silver, Brass, Copper and other metals. It is ideal for small casting Jobs with a torch. Includes 2 Oz bórax flux and 1 melting dish handle./br> Borax is specially prepared for making a paste; dissolves easily. Borax is also used mixed with water as a flux when soldering jewelry metals such as gold or silver. Also used to glaze crucibles and casting process. You will need to glaze your crucible with borax before you melt any metal in it. This ensures that your metal doesn't stick to the ceramic crucible./br> The whip tong is designed for use with Ceramic melting Dishes (3" - 4"). It securely grip small crucibles for efficient hand-pouring of small molds. Made from stainless steel and cross-locking style.
